Ribes uva crispa ‘Hinnonmaki Röd’, called kruisbes or stekelbes in Dutch, is a small to medium-sized deciduous shrub with a bushy, strongly branched habit, thorny twigs, and heart-shaped, medium-green, softly hairy leaves with three to five lobes. This gooseberry blooms in April and May with green-yellow flowers in hanging clusters, later followed by red berries.
