Ribes uva crispa ‘Invicta’, called gooseberry or prickly gooseberry in Dutch, is a small to medium-sized deciduous shrub with a bushy, strongly branched habit, thorny twigs and heart-shaped mid-green softly hairy three- to five-lobed leaves. This gooseberry blooms in April and May with green-yellow flowers in hanging clusters, later followed by large green-yellow berries with a pleasantly tart flavour.
